The Virtual

Solar System

Guestbook

I am going to live in Antarctica soon, so I'm afraid I won't be able to answer any more questions about the Solar System.

Thank you to everyone who has taken the time to leave a message up to now. The most recent guestbook entries are listed below, in reverse chronological order. My replies are shown in purple.

I am seeking information on how individuals can help space scientists by making their p.c. available in a vast search in in space. I do not know the name of this search. Can you please help?

I think you are talking about SETI @ home, which is a scientific experiment that uses Internet-connected computers in the Search for Extraterrestrial Intelligence (SETI). You can participate by running a free program that downloads and analyzes radio telescope data.

This is a great site, I'm surprised that I haven't stumbled across it before.

I am currently working on a site somewhat similiar to this one, except the focus of my site will be on the messier objects - all 110 of them :)

Keep up the good work, this site is wonderful!

The scale model is an incredible demonstration of the vast distances we're trying to comprehend. To think I was planning on showing some kids the sizes involved using footballs and oranges and a playing field! Time for a re-think!

There are loads of different ways to try to visualise the Solar System. The Solar System Scale Model Meta Page contains a pretty complete list of resources on the subject.
